🔎How To Find Purpose In Life: 3 Key Reasons People Struggle to Find Their Purpose
1️⃣ You’re Too Busy with The Wrong Things
2️⃣ You Haven’t Considered: ‘What Does God Want Me to Do?’
3️⃣ You Are Doing Second Things First
Let’s break these down. ⬇️
1️⃣ You’re Too Busy with The Wrong Things
🚨 Life is full of distractions—work, social media, obligations—you name it. But ask yourself:
🔹 Is my energy being spent on things that align with God’s purpose for my life?
🔹 Do I feel drained and unfulfilled at the end of the day?
🔹 Am I saying “yes” to things God never asked me to do?
👉 Maybe the reason you feel so tired and drained is that you’re pouring your time and energy into things that have nothing to do with your purpose.
When you’re operating outside of God’s plan, exhaustion is inevitable—but when you walk in alignment with Him, you’ll find strength, clarity, and fulfillment.
✅ When you surrender your plans to God and let Him direct your steps, you’ll stop wasting energy on things that don’t serve your purpose and start walking confidently on the path He has set for you. 💡✨
2️⃣ You Haven’t Considered: ‘What Does God Want Me to Do?’
💭 Be honest—have you ever avoided asking, “What does God want me to do?” because you’re afraid of the answer?
Maybe you’ve thought:
🔹 What if He sends me somewhere far away?
🔹 What if He calls me to something completely outside my comfort zone?
🔹 What if I don’t want to do what He asks?
🙋♂️ I’ve had that thought too—so if that’s you, you’re not alone.
Now, don’t get me wrong—God does call missionaries, and there is a need for that. 🌍✝️
But here’s the truth:
✅ When God calls someone to that kind of mission, He also gives them the passion, love, and grace for it.
They don’t see it as a burden; they see it as a blessing.
📌 So if that doesn’t sound like you, don’t worry—God isn’t trying to force you into something you weren’t designed for.
Instead of fearing what God might ask of you, trust that His plans for you are filled with purpose, joy, and alignment with who He created you to be. 💡✨
🌍 Your Mission is Already in Your Sphere of Influence
The ministry God has for you isn’t far away—it’s already where you are.
✅ It’s at your job.
✅ It’s under your roof.
✅ It’s in your daily life—wherever you go.
🚫 You don’t have to wait for a grand calling or a dramatic sign.
💡 God wants to reach the people around you through YOU.
He wants to use all of you—your gifts, your story, and your experiences—to make an impact right where you are.
You are already positioned on purpose, for a purpose. 🙌🔥
🚦 3. You Are Prioritizing The Wrong Things
Most of us make our own decisions first—then, after the fact, ask God to bless them.
But it should be the other way around.
We get so caught up chasing secondary things that we neglect what actually matters—our God-given purpose.
🎯 We spend time chasing:
✔️ Success
✔️ Approval
✔️ Money
✔️ Comfort
Thinking these things will bring fulfillment.
But in reality, they are distractions if they aren’t aligned with what God has called us to do.
📖 Jesus put it plainly in Matthew 6:33 (NIV):
Yet, instead of seeking God first, we:
❌ Make plans, then ask God to bless them.
❌ Prioritize comfort over calling.
❌ Chase what feels urgent instead of what is important.
🚨 Stop asking God to bless what Hell sent. 🚨
But when we seek Him first, He aligns everything else in the right order. 🙏✨
🛤️ How to Find Purpose in Life: Purpose Comes When Priorities Are in Place
If you want to learn how to find your purpose in life, it starts with aligning your priorities with God’s will.
Instead of making decisions first and hoping for the best, we should be asking God first:
💬 “Lord, is this the decision You want me to make? Is this where You want me to go?”
📖 Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV) reminds us:
But too often, we direct our own lives—then ask God to approve it. 😬
🙌 True purpose is found when you surrender your plans to God and trust His direction.
🛤️ How to Find Purpose in Life: Where Does It Come From?
If you’re seeking purpose, it’s important to remember where purpose comes from.
💡 Purpose comes from God.
That means:
🚫 Don’t allow someone else to define your significance.
If you do, they’ll assign you a purpose that benefits them—not one that honors Him.
🚫 Don’t let people assign you a purpose just because it’s convenient for them.
They will push you toward what serves them, not what serves God.
🙌 Your purpose is divine—it’s not meant to be dictated by the world. Seek God’s plan, not people’s expectations.
Come to God with an Open Heart
It’s going to be hard to hear what God has to say when you’ve already decided what you want Him to say.
So, before you ask, “What is my purpose?” ask yourself:
🧐 Am I truly open to God’s answer?
🧐 Or have I already made up my mind about what I want Him to say?
Let go of fear.
Let go of control.
Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV
“My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
How to Find Purpose in Life: What is Purpose?
💡 Purpose is your divine DNA.
Purpose is not random—it’s intentional.
God saw you before you were even formed.
👉 He saw your family, your siblings, your bloodline, your environment.
👉 He saw where you would go to school, where you would work, who you would marry, and the children you would have.
👉 He saw every experience, every struggle, and every moment of your life.
Not only did He see you, but He knew you before your mother even realized she was pregnant.
God knew you needed to be on this earth at this exact moment in time.
He knows:
✔️ Your background.
✔️ Your situation.
✔️ Your pain.
And yet, He still said: “You are needed.”
Because God is a God of purpose.
He saw your sphere of influence and a problem that needed solving—so He placed a problem-solving assignment inside of you.
🛠️ He put something in you because the world and the people in your life would need it.
What is True Success?
Your purpose isn’t about making your own name great—it’s about glorifying His.
It’s about fulfilling God’s assignment for your life.
That’s why understanding how to find your purpose in life starts with understanding that your life has divine significance.
This redefines failure.
🚫 Failure is when you succeed the most in what matters the least.
✅ Success is when you step into the God-given task you were meant to do.
What culture calls success is often failure in the kingdom.
And what God calls success is often overlooked by the world.
You Were Sent Here on Purpose
When God does something, it is on purpose.
And when He does nothing, it is still on purpose.
Everything God does is intentional.
💡 Nothing catches Him off guard.
Maybe you were a surprise to your parents, but you were planned and right on time for God.
👉 God identified a problem that needed solving—so He sent you.
You Have Been Chosen
📖 John 15:16 (KJV) says:
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
Through this verse, God is telling us something profound:
- You have been chosen for a work.
- You have been chosen for an assignment.
- You have been chosen for a mission.
- You have been chosen for a people.
- You have been chosen for a season.
- You have been chosen for a time.
🔹 Let this be your affirmation today:
💬 “I have been chosen.”
This is a powerful declaration, especially for:
⚠️ Those who feel like their life is meaningless…
⚠️ Those who have battled suicidal thoughts…
⚠️ Those who feel like they have no purpose, no significance…
The devil is a liar.
What Does It Mean to Be Ordained?
To be ordained means to be authorized.
For your God-given assignment, you have been given authority.
📖 Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) says:
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Purpose Solves Problems
When you are engaged in your God-given purpose, it solves problems.
✅ Purpose removes problems.
So if purpose solves problems, then maybe the reason we have so many problems in our world…
…is because we have a whole lot of people who are existing but not truly living.
💡 You are truly living when you are occupying the God-given task He has assigned to you.
You Have Been Chosen to Fix a Problem
You have been chosen to fix a problem in your:
- Community
- Workplace
- Hospital
- Courtroom
- Classroom
- Church
- Bloodline
If you are a faith-filled attorney, doctor, teacher, or leader, and God has called you to represent Him and His Kingdom in your profession—you are already walking in your purpose.
It doesn’t matter if the world knows your name or recognizes your work.
Heaven knows your name, and Heaven knows your obedience.
If God has called you to a profession where you can bring justice, healing, wisdom, or truth, then you are fulfilling your God-given task.
If You Are…
- A mother or father raising your children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6) – You are successful and you are fulfilling your assignment.
- A husband or wife loving your spouse the way God intended – You are successful and you are fulfilling your assignment.
- A business owner leading with integrity – You are successful and you are fulfilling your assignment.
Success isn’t about fame—it’s about being faithful to what God called you to do.
The Enemy Fears Your Purpose
One of the greatest signs that you have been chosen is that trauma arrives early in your life.
God always places a deliverer in a bloodline.
This is why the enemy attacks certain people so young.
🔸 He fears you.
🔸 He fears your purpose.
🔸 He fears your potential.
The devil knows that if you ever reach maturity, you’ll be a problem for him.
So His Strategy is Simple:
“If I can get them so caught up in their own problems, they will never become my problem.”
If he can:
- Keep you distracted
- Make you doubt your worth
- Keep you from discovering your purpose
Then he can stop you before you ever reach your full potential.
Your Birthday is Not Just Another Day
Don’t just let your birthday be another ordinary day.
✨ In heaven, your birthday was the day a problem solver was born.
🔥 To hell, your birthday was the day a problem was born.
Your birth wasn’t random—it was a divine appointment.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT)
“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.”
When you were born, God said, “IT IS TIME.”
Time is Now
⏳ There was a time for you to be sent here.
⏳ A time for you to step into your purpose.
⏳ A time for you to rise up and take your place.
💡 That time is now.

How to Find Purpose in Life: Your Spiritual Roadmap to Home
This is your spiritual map—the path that leads you home, the path that leads you to your purpose.
✅ Purpose is the reason you were born.
🎯 It is your life’s target.
📖 It is your God-given assignment.
If you don’t know your purpose, you will live aimlessly.
And when you live aimlessly…
⚠️ Bystanders get hit—because you’re shooting at the wrong target.
💡 If you don’t understand the purpose of something, you will always abuse it.
So don’t waste another moment living without direction.
🚀 You were created for something greater.
How to Find Your Purpose in Life
If you’re wondering, “What am I supposed to do?” here’s your spiritual map to finding the answer.
1. Seek God First
You Can’t Discover Your Purpose Without Knowing Your Creator
It is foolish to read this blog, take this spiritual map, and try to figure out your purpose—without first building a relationship with the One who made you.
🔹 God made you.
🔹 God made you on purpose.
🔹 God made you for a purpose.
🔹 God made you for HIS purpose.
Many people feel like their lives are insignificant—not because they lack talent or ability, but because they live outside God’s counsel and involvement.
You’ve been trying to make life work while excluding the One who designed it.
2. Identify Your Passions
What is Your Passion?
🔥 Passion is married to purpose.
But what if you feel like you have no passion?
This is why the enemy attacks so hard. He knows that if he can take your passion, he can take away your lens to discover your purpose.
If he can make you experience pain after pain after pain, he can rob you of your passion—and without passion, you lose your spiritual map that leads you to your purpose.
But Here’s the Beautiful Thing About God…
📖 Romans 8:28 (NLT) says:
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”
What if I told you that your mistakes are part of the journey?
We serve a God who says:
“I do not care what you did—just come home.”
What if everything you thought was holding you back—every failure, every hardship, every moment of pain—was actually positioning you to be launched forward into your purpose? 🚀
3. Discover Your Gifts and Strengths
🎁 God has given you unique gifts and talents for a reason.
Ask yourself:
✔ What are you naturally good at?
✔ What do people often seek your advice on?
✔ What activities make you feel most alive?
Don’t just be good at something—master it. 💡
Your gifts are tools to fulfill your purpose. 🛠
Developing your strengths is an important part of discovering how to find your purpose in life—because God equips those He calls. 🙏✨
4. Surround Yourself with Godly Relationships and Accountability
If you want to live in your purpose, you need to be surrounded by people who are living in theirs.
When you understand the value of your purpose, you will start making purpose-driven choices in every area of your life:
✅ You will choose friends on purpose.
✅ You will pick churches on purpose.
✅ You will date on purpose.
✅ You will marry on purpose.
✅ You will work out on purpose.
✅ You will listen to music on purpose.
✅ You will do everything on purpose.
Why Your Community Matters
This means you need to be connected to a community of believers. ✝️
You need to be surrounded by people who have a relationship with the Father—because when you are, they will guide you with truth.
They will be able to say:
🗣 “Hey, this is not like God.”
🗣 “This aligns with God’s Word.”
Being in the right circle will help you make decisions that are conducive to your purpose.
Simply Put: You Need Discipleship.
Walking in purpose isn’t a solo journey—it requires guidance, accountability, and alignment with God’s truth. 🙏💡
How to Find Purpose in Life: You Can’t Find Purpose Without Seeking God
The only way to know your purpose is to seek the One who gave it to you.
📖 James 4:8 (NKJV) says:
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
📖 Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT) says:
“If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
When you seek God, you will find your purpose.
When you leave this earth, certain problems should no longer exist—because you spent your life fulfilling your purpose.
God desires for you to discover your purpose even more than you do. His arms aren’t crossed in hesitation—they’re wide open, ready and waiting for you.
➡ Seek God and find your purpose. 🙏✨
How to Find Purpose in Life: Your Purpose Starts with God
🔹 You were not an accident.
🔹 You were not a mistake.
🔹 You were sent here on purpose, for a purpose, by a purposeful God.
Everything about you—your background, your gifts, your struggles, your victories—was intentionally designed by God because there is something only YOU can do.
But here’s the truth: You will never find your purpose apart from the One who created it.
📖 John 15:16 (KJV) says:
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.”
✅ God has already chosen you.
✅ He has already ordained you.
✅ He is just waiting for you to step into your assignment.
So here’s the question:
Are you ready to stop wandering and start walking in your God-given calling?
Because your time is now.
